Programs and Activities for Gr. 6 - 8
We have lots of helpful programs and fun activities throughout the year. We visit Disneyland. We take ski and camping trips. We take hikes. We have pool and beach parties and days at the park.
We also have family programs such as "Parent & Youth Tune-Up Nights" to help youth and their parents learn and grow together. Confirmation classes are also available to help youth learn more about the Methodist Church and to recognize to work of God's grace in their lives.

We also have an afterschool program for junior high students called Mid Zone. Mid Zone is a safe place
where students can come to work on and find help with their homework, make new friends, and have fun.
There are field trips, games in the gym or youth lounge, and activities such as photography, cooking,
drama, music and dance.

Mid-Week Fellowship
for Gr. 6 - 8 (LOGOS)
We have a mid-week junior and senior high program called LOGOS that takes place during the school year between the months of September to March. We have dinner together and we have time for fellowship. We sing, plan activities, and spend time learning about the bible, about ourselves and about God.

Community Service for Middleschoolers
Faith in Action Program
We also have a community service program called Faith in Action. This program is designed to provide opportunities for youth to live out their faith through service to others. It is also a great way to earn community service hours as well. We are a certified organization of The President's Volunteer Service Award and all participants are eligible for this yearly award - which can be attached to every application and resume! In the past, we have taken part in Operation Gratitude. We have also collected school supplies and books for students in need. We have also helped out in various food pantries, soup kitchens and clothes closets in the Los Angeles area. And we look forward to doing more in the coming years ahead!
For more information, please contact Kathy Platnick at or call her at 213-479-6950.
Sierra Service Project
Every year, we participate in a program called Sierra Service Project. Each summer we travel to a Native American reservation to help repair and rebuild homes. It is a great opportunity to be in service to others and to help those whose homes are in need of care. It is also a great opportunity to learn more about the history and culture of Native Americans and to experience it firsthand.
