INTRODUCTION
Located on the beautiful Palos Verdes Peninsula, Rolling Hills United Methodist Church provides a lovely and memorable setting for your wedding ceremony. Nestled among pine trees, the sanctuary is open and bright, with glass side walls and a vaulted ceiling. Palos Verdes stone and bleached oak woodwork add to the tasteful setting, which has a seating capacity of 280 and ample parking. The church is conveniently located at 26438 Crenshaw Boulevard in Rolling Hills Estates, approximately 20 minutes from both the 405 and 110 freeways.

The celebration of marriage creates a new family and marks the beginning of a new chapter in your lives. We want to do all that we can to prepare and strengthen couples for years of living and growing together. For that reason we offer a marriage preparation seminar (click here for more info), led by licensed professional counselors, as a part of our wedding services. These are typically held twice a year, in the Fall and Spring.

Please call the church office at 310-377-6771 for additional information, or to make an appointment with the pastor. Appointments are available Monday through Thursday, usually between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. After your meeting, a non-refundable deposit of $250 will reserve your date. Following your reservation you will be contacted by the wedding hostess, who will work with you to help with many of the details surrounding the wedding day.

WEDDING FEES
The wedding fee of $1,250.00 covers the following items:

Use of the sanctuary for rehearsal and wedding ceremony.
Wedding Hostess

Marriage Preparation seminar

A check payable to Rolling Hills United Methodist Church for the full amount (less deposit ) is due to the church office one month prior to your wedding date.

The pastor's honorarium of $250 is to be given to the wedding hostess at the rehearsal.

An informal wedding of fewer than 20 guests and members of the wedding party (no rehearsal, organist, wedding hostess), requires a $250 deposit plus the pastor's $250 honorarium.

REHEARSAL
The rehearsal will be held within the week prior to the wedding. All members of the wedding party should plan to be present. The rehearsal will last one hour, and promptness is encouraged!

MARRIAGE LICENSE
The marriage license must be brought to the church on the day of the rehearsal. Without it, the wedding can not be held.

THE DAY OF THE WEDDING
The bride, attendants and ushers should arrive at the church at least an hour prior to the ceremony. The groom and best man should arrive not later than 45 minutes before the service. Dressing areas will be provided.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Couples are encouraged to make the service personal with the use of special music or readings. Any changes to the regular wedding service will be at the discretion of the pastor. Guest clergy may also participate in the service at the invitation of the pastor.

All weddings of 20 or more (guests and wedding party) are to be supervised by our wedding hostess.

The wedding hostess will be available to recommend and confirm music selections for the service. The use of pre-recorded music on tapes or compact discs is not permitted. The church organist is to be used if there is organ music.

Professional photographers may take pictures (without flash) during the service. Others may take pictures before and after the service.

There are several locations where videotaping may easily be done. Camera operators are asked not to move during the service, in order not to distract from the ceremony.

Smoking and alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the church premises.

Two brass stands are available for flowers, as well as a table,
10" deep by 72" wide x 36" high, which may be placed behind
the altar.

If using a floor runner, the length should be 55'.
